This high profile, award-winning development from the Supportive Housing Coalition of New Mexico is located on a reclaimed, former city-owned parking lot in downtown Albuquerque. A new model to New Mexico, the 72 micro-efficiency units house a diverse population ranging from formerly homeless individuals to low-wage workers and market-rate residents. A ground floor commercial space houses a cafe and integrated on-site supportive services for residents. The property also celebrates a wide range of sustainable design features ranging from a roof-top array of solar panels for domestic hot-water and supplemental space heating, cisterns for roof water collection, grey-water re-use system, low-emitting materials, low water plants, and a hands-on community garden for resident use. Waiting lists exist for affordable units. 30% & Chronically Homeless units are subsidized through Bernalillo County project-based vouchers, so residents pay only 30% of annual adjusted income for rent (zero-income residents are required to pay $50 per month).
